Australia Requirements
Estimated Costs Associated with Visa and Medical Board Registration (In Australian Dollars)
Competent Authority Model (CAM) – Advanced Standing Applicants (please confirm with your recruiter if you are CAM eligible)
Advanced Standing:
- Includes EICS (international document verification) $600
- AMC Certification (after 12 months employment) $225
Notary Public services:
- Witnessing signature on CA Form (mandatory for all): $170
- Certifying documents: $20 per additional page
- 4 photographs for CAM
- Primary Degree for CAM
- Identity Documents for CAM
- Evidence of training and/or qualifications for CAM
- Translations (if applicable)
- Evidence of change of name (if applicable)
- Additional certified copies and/or other documents as applicable for Medical Board Registration
- Medical Board Application fees – varies between States from nil to maximum of $650
- Visa Application filing fee $250
- Visa Medicals – varies between countries approximately $350
- Courier fees – varies between countries estimated $150
Estimated Costs Associated with Relocation
- When relocating you should have at least $5000 for flights, initial accommodation and a rental deposit.
Flights may cost less, depending on the country from which you are travelling.
Certificates of Good Standing
- You will need to request that original Certificates of Good Standing (COGS) or Certificates of Registration Status (CORS) be sent from your current medical registration body DIRECTLY to the relevant Medical Board in Australia within 3 months of your employment start date as follows:
- NSW From last 10 years
- QLD, ACT Every registration body you have been registered with
- SA From last 5 years
- WA, VIC, NT, TAS Current registration body
English Proficiency
- If your secondary schooling was in a country where English is not the primary language, you will need to sit or have sat (within the past two years) the academic module of the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or equivalent. A minimum score of 7 is required in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing and speaking).
- If English is your first language, and you were educated in a country where English is the primary language, you will need to provide your secondary school certificate, exam certificates, or a letter from the school setting out your period of education.

How Long Does the Process Take?
- Once we receive all of your paperwork for the AMC, State Medical Board and the Department of Immigration, it will take approximately 3 months to be processed. The AMC (Advanced Standing) approval is a prerequisite to lodgement of the Medical Board application and the Medical Board registration approval is required before the Department of Immigration will approve your visa.
